***EDIT*** I shouldn’t have said ‘it’s coming down’… I mean that ‘it’s just going to sit here with nothing’ because I do not have a reliable computer (until I get a new one, but I don’t know if that will be anytime soon) so, I can’t do much at the moment.

Earth Day and Rainforest Protection News
Friday April 16th
Earth Day 2010 is this time next week (22nd April) – in fact, the whole week from today onwards is often considered ‘Earth Week’. So in Fairyland we have decided to bring back last month’s Earth Flower, which can now be gifted/grown once again – so if you missed it before, here’s another chance to get yourself one of those nice Earth Pots :)

This time around, we have also increased the amount of rainforest adopted – which is now 10 sq ft per per Earth Flower harvested. That’s a lot, considering that they can be grown pretty quickly, and means that if enough Fairylanders grow a few, and send a few to friends, then we can have a very real effect this Earth Week!

Share!

You can also send Earth Flowers to individual friends by clicking the “Gift” icon in your Garden as usual.

On a related note, we’re also very proud to announce that we just made our latest donation to the rainforest protection programme (which is calculated based upon all plants harvested throughout all Fairyland Gardens.) The donation came in at just over $5000, helping to protect over 100 Acres more rainforest via the programme! (All our donations to date – over $32,000 – can be seen on our Causes page, or by clicking the “View Rainforest Protected” link on the All Gardens page. You can also find out more about the rainforest protection cause we support by clicking here.)

New Emerald-Bearing Wildlife!

New Emerald-Bearing Wildlife!

Thursday April 15th
Hunting for Jewel seeds? We’ve heard that the Emerald seeds are proving to be the most elusive… but hopefully no more!

A new guardian of Emeralds, the Woodpecker, has arrived in Fairyland! Although listed as “rare”, Woodpeckers are actually not so difficult to attract/spot – with the right food and plant choices (and the help of a good Mushroom!) you should find it’s possible to attract them without too much competition from other wildlife :)

Happy Hunting!

‘Jewel Baskets’ Now Available!

April 6, 2010 at 10:34 am (Uncategorized)

Monday April 5th
Today, the Jewels of the Forest begin to reveal their secrets – you can now grab yourself a Jewel Basket from the Pot Shoppe, and plant your first Forest Ruby (if you have managed to find one already – if not, keep hunting!)

A new food type, “Tropical Fruits”, is also available in the Shoppe, and there’s a new Rainforest Wildlife section in the Wildlife Guide. (There are a few other little surprises awaiting discovery too!)

A final tip: Be sure to read all of the available information, and plan carefully – Jewels take time to find, so you probably won’t want to waste any of them!
